By 1950, the people of Nepal were ready for change. They were tired of the Ranas’ harsh rule and wanted a government that would listen to them. The Nepali Congress, King Tribhuvan, and the people worked together to bring an end to the Ranas' control. King Tribhuvan with the members of the Nepali Congress In 1950, King Tribhuvan left Nepal and went to India. He did this to escape the Ranas' control and to gather support for ending the Rana regime.
